Challenge
In the severe form, COVID 19 patients have very severe lung damage that prevents the blood passing through the lung from being properly oxygenated. This very low oxygen concentration resulting from the lung damage leads to essential organ failure and sometimes death
Methodology/Technology used
The research focuses on the study of gas exchange from data recorded during the monitoring of patients in intensive care during artificial ventilation. These anonymous data are then integrated into mathematical models which calculate the best settings to obtain the best oxygenation and especially the adequacy between blood circulation and pulmonary ventilation. The results of these models should allow progress in the management of this type of patients who present severe respiratory distress.
